Simple Beaded Boxes: Eighteen beautiful tutorials to start making beaded boxes (Beadflowers Beading Patterns by Katie Dean)

Simple Beaded Boxes, is the nineteenth book in the Beadflowers Beading Patterns series. It offers you a selection of the beaded boxes that I designed during my career as a bead artist and tutor. I have curated this collection to give you the simplest designs so they are perfect for anyone wishing to begin making their first beaded boxes. These projects were originally shared as tutorials through the Beadflowers website or online classes.The projects in this volume use a variety of different beads, including some seed beads, many delica beads – in both sizes 11 and 10 – and also some gemduos. The majority of the projects are made using Peyote stitch, but I have included one design that uses Cubic Right Angle Weave (CRAW).Although the projects are designed for starting to learn how to make beaded boxes, this is structural beadwork and that is more suited to people who have a strong knowledge of beading. If you are a complete beginner, it is possible to learn these skills with time and practice. In that case, you will need to supplement this book with volume two in the Beadflowers Beading Patterns series. That volume teaches you all the basic techniques. In here, I have assumed you already have a lot of working knowledge of Peyote stitch and CRAW.This is a book that invites you to grow your skills, so you will learn different ways of constructing boxes, and different shapes for making boxes. Once you have mastered these, you will be all set to move on to the next volumes in this series, in which I share more advanced projects and also projects with some specific themes.
